How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    • Develop pupils’ confidence in writing, number and problem-solving.
    • Use assessment effectively to identify gaps and plan appropriate next steps.
    • Adapt teaching for pupils with SEND, English as an additional language and differing levels of attainment.
    • Maintain a positive and well-organised classroom.
    • Establish clear routines and age-appropriate behaviour expectations.
    • Work closely with teaching assistants and other members of the year-group team.
    • Communicate professionally with parents and carers.
    • Contribute to planning meetings, pupil-progress discussions and wider school activities.
    • Fulfil all safeguarding and professional responsibilities associated with the role.

    About you
    The successful candidate will:
    • Hold Qualified Teacher Status.
    • Have recent teaching experience in Key Stage 1.
    • Demonstrate secure knowledge of the primary National Curriculum.
    • Be confident teaching phonics and early reading.
    • Use assessment information to inform planning and support progress.
    • Have effective classroom and behaviour-management skills.
    • Set high expectations while providing a nurturing learning environment.
    • Work well with colleagues and communicate clearly with families.
    • Be organised, dependable and committed to inclusive education.
    • Experience teaching Year 1 or Year 2 and knowledge of transition from EYFS into Key Stage 1 would be particularly valuable. Applications are welcomed from experienced teachers and confident ECTs with strong Key Stage 1 training or placement experience.

    What this opportunity offers
    • A competitive annual salary of £37,870–£56,154.
    • A full-time, long-term position from September 2026.
    • The opportunity to join a supportive primary-school team.
