How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

Are you an organised, confident administrator who enjoys keeping busy programmes running like clockwork? We're recruiting on behalf of a well-regarded Higher Education provider in Cambridge for a Postgraduate Programme Administrator to join their team on a temporary basis, with a strong opportunity to move into a permanent position.

This role sits at the heart of a postgraduate programme, keeping communications, systems and budgets on track so that students and staff have a smooth experience from start to finish. You'll be joining ahead of a new course launch in October, working closely with the outgoing postholder during a structured handover to make sure nothing is missed.

    WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING

Coordinating the day-to-day running of the programme, keeping things on time, on budget and to a high standard
Managing programme communications, including newsletters and updates to stakeholders
Organising events from start to finish, including budgets, staffing and travel arrangements
Taking ownership of programme finances, from monitoring spend to processing invoices and purchase orders
Keeping databases, records and the website accurate and up to date
Pulling together reports and data to support strategic decisions
Acting as secretary to the programme's steering group, including agendas, minutes and follow-ups
Supporting publicity and marketing activity for the programme
    WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR

Proven experience in an administrative or project management role
Confident, everyday use of Microsoft Office
Excellent organisational skills, with the ability to juggle several priorities at once
Strong written and verbal communication skills
A good understanding of programme or course coordination
Educated to degree level, or an equivalent qualification or level of practical experience
Experience within Higher Education is an advantage but not essential
    THE DETAILS

Temporary contract for 3 months, with potential for permanent role to follow
37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday, 9.00am to 5.00pm, with an earlier finish on Fridays
Office based, with a hybrid pattern once settled in
Start date end of August, allowing for a handover with the current postholder
    WHY APPLY

This is a fantastic opportunity to step into a varied, hands-on role with genuine variety day to day, supported by a thorough handover and a clear route to a permanent position. If you're looking for a role where your organisational skills will really make a difference, we'd love to hear from you
