How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    Heavy Plant Field Service Engineer

    Stourbridge

    £18.00 - £20.00 per hour + Company Van + Overtime (OTE £60,000+) + Pension

    NEOS Engineering are currently working with a well-established and highly respected heavy plant business who are looking to recruit an experienced Field Service Engineer to join their growing team covering the West Midlands. This is a fantastic opportunity for an engineer who enjoys working on a wide variety of heavy plant machinery, with plenty of overtime available, excellent support and genuine long-term career prospects.

    The Role

    Service, maintenance and repair of heavy plant and construction machinery
    Diagnose and repair hydraulic, electrical and mechanical faults
    Carry out routine servicing, inspections and preventative maintenance
    Attend customer breakdowns across the West Midlands
    Complete job sheets and service reports accurately
    Deliver first-class customer service while representing the business on site
    Manage your own workload and territory efficiently

    The Candidate

    Previous experience working as a Heavy Plant, Construction Equipment or Agricultural Engineer
    Strong diagnostic skills across hydraulic, electrical and mechanical systems
    Experience working on excavators, dumpers, loading shovels, telehandlers or similar equipment
    NVQ Level 2 or Level 3 in Plant Maintenance (or equivalent) is desirable
    Full UK Driving Licence
    A positive attitude with excellent fault-finding and problem-solving skills
