How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

A growing construction consultancy is seeking an Assistant Project Manager to join its London team and support the delivery of predominantly commercial projects, alongside a smaller portfolio of hotel schemes. This is an excellent opportunity for an Assistant Project Manager with consultancy experience to manage smaller projects with appropriate support while assisting Directors on larger and more complex commissions. The successful Assistant Project Manager will gain broad exposure across the full project lifecycle and work closely with experienced senior professionals.

The Assistant Project Manager will take responsibility for day-to-day project coordination, reporting and consultant management. This Assistant Project Manager role would suit an ambitious individual who is ready to lead smaller commissions while continuing to develop their technical and client-facing skills. As the Assistant Project Manager, you will also support Directors in delivering major projects, giving you valuable experience of complex project leadership.

You must have prior construction consultancy experience to be considered for this role.

    The Assistant Project Manager's role

The Assistant Project Manager will manage smaller commercial and hotel projects with guidance from senior colleagues, while supporting Directors on larger schemes. Responsibilities will include preparing project programmes, maintaining risk registers, coordinating design information and producing clear progress reports.

The Assistant Project Manager will attend and help chair project meetings, monitor actions and coordinate architects, engineers, cost consultants and contractors. You will also assist with consultant appointments, procurement, tender processes, change control, contract administration and project close-out.

Approximately 75% of the workload will be commercial, with the remaining projects focused on hotels.

    The Assistant Project Manager

The successful Assistant Project Manager will have:

Previous project management experience within a construction consultancy.
Experience supporting or delivering commercial building projects.
Exposure to hotel or hospitality projects would be advantageous.
A RICS-accredited degree in Project Management, Quantity Surveying, Building Surveying or a related discipline.
A clear ambition to achieve MRICS chartered status.
Knowledge of JCT contracts and common procurement routes.
Strong organisation, communication and report-writing skills.
Confidence working with clients and multidisciplinary consultant teams.

    In Return?

    £35,000-£45,000
    Structured support towards MRICS chartership.
A proven track record of helping Project Managers achieve chartered status.
Responsibility for smaller projects with senior support.
Exposure to larger commercial and hotel developments.
    Pension and annual leave package.
    Clear progression towards Project Manager.
