How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    Job Introduction

Lead Change. Drive Excellence. Transform Lives.

At Turning Point, we believe that everyone deserves the opportunity to live a fulfilling and independent life. We're looking for an experienced and values-driven Practice Improvement Lead to provide operational leadership across our Midpoint and The Stewarts services during an exciting period of service development, mobilisation, and growth.

This is a unique opportunity to lead meaningful change, shape service delivery, and ensure people receive high-quality, person-centred support that enables them to thrive within their communities.

Candidates will need to work flexibly across our Midpoint and The Stewarts services in Hertfordshire and well as other localities as and when required.

This is a fixed-term role for 9 months.

    About the Role

As Practice Improvement Lead, you will provide visible and hands-on leadership across two services, supporting the continued development of Midpoint while leading the successful mobilisation and establishment of The Stewarts service.

Working closely with operational teams, commissioners, local partners, and colleagues across Turning Point, you'll drive service improvement, embed best practice, and ensure both services are fully aligned with our values, quality standards, and commitment to outstanding care.

You will play a critical role in building confident, capable teams, fostering a positive culture, and ensuring services are safe, effective, and sustainable for the future.

    The Role

As a visible and hands-on leader, you'll drive service improvement, support cultural development, and help create high-performing teams that deliver outstanding outcomes for the people we support. You'll lead service readiness and mobilisation activities, oversee quality and governance, and build strong relationships with key stakeholders to ensure both services are sustainable and embedded within their local communities.

    Key responsibilities include:

Leading operational delivery and service development across both services.

Supporting the mobilisation of Midpoint and successful launch of The Stewarts service.

Developing, coaching, and empowering managers and colleagues.

Embedding best practice, continuous improvement, and a positive values-led culture.

Ensuring compliance with regulatory, contractual, and quality standards.

Building effective partnerships with commissioners, healthcare professionals, local authorities, families, and community organisations.

Supporting workforce planning, service performance, and operational sustainability.

    About You

We're looking for an inspiring leader with significant experience within health and social care services who thrives in a changing environment and is committed to delivering high-quality, person-centred support.

    You'll have:

Proven operational leadership experience within health, social care, supported living, residential, or community services.

Experience of service mobilisation, transformation, or change management.

A track record of developing high-performing teams and leaders.

Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and influencing skills.

Experience managing performance, resources, and budgets.

NVQ Level 5 in Health & Social Care is desirable.

    Why Join Us?

This is a unique opportunity to play a pivotal role in shaping two important services, creating positive change, and improving outcomes for people with learning disabilities and/or autism. If you're a compassionate, values-driven leader who is passionate about service excellence and continuous improvement, we'd love to hear from you.

Join Turning Point and help create services where people can thrive, belong, and reach their full potential.
