Key Responsibilities
Erect, alter, and dismantle scaffolding systems in accordance with project specifications and industry standards.
Read and interpret scaffold drawings, plans, and method statements.
Ensure all scaffolding is erected safely and complies with current health and safety legislation.
Carry out routine inspections of scaffolding and report any defects or safety concerns.
Secure scaffolding using appropriate ties, braces, guardrails, toe boards, and access systems.
Load, unload, transport, and organise scaffold materials on site.
Work effectively with site managers, contractors, and other trades to meet project deadlines.
Maintain a clean, safe, and organised working environment.
Use tools and equipment correctly and ensure they are maintained in good working order.
Follow company policies, risk assessments, and safe systems of work at all times.
Wear and maintain the required personal protective equipment (PPE).
Report incidents, near misses, and unsafe conditions promptly.
Skills and Experience
Essential
Previous experience working as a scaffolder.
Good understanding of scaffolding systems and construction site practices.
Ability to work safely at height.
Strong awareness of health and safety regulations.
Good communication and teamwork skills.
Physically fit with the ability to undertake manual work.
Reliable, punctual, and able to work under pressure.
Desirable
CISRS Scaffolder Card (Part 1, Part 2, or Advanced).
Valid CSCS Card.
Full UK Driving Licence.
Experience with tube and fitting, system scaffolding, and temporary roofing systems.
First Aid qualification
