How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    * Investigating and resolving invoice discrepancies with suppliers

    * Maintaining an accurate supplier query register

    * Reconciling supplier statements

    * Preparing detailed supplier payment schedules

    * Liaising with internal departments to resolve invoice and purchase order queries

    * Maintaining accurate purchase ledger records

    * Supporting the wider finance team with general administrative duties as required

    What we're looking for

    * Previous experience working within a Purchase Ledger or Accounts Payable role

    * Excellent attention to detail and high levels of accuracy

    * Strong organisational skills with the ability to prioritise a busy workload

    * Confident communicator, both over the phone and via email

    * Experience reconciling supplier statements and resolving invoice queries

    * Comfortable using Microsoft Office, particularly Excel

    * Experience using accounting software

    * A positive, proactive team player who enjoys working in a fast-paced environment

    What's in it for you?

    * Competitive salary of £25,000 – £35,000

    * 25 days holiday plus bank holidays

    * Company pension

    * Free on-site parking

    * Early finish every Friday (2pm!)

    * Friendly, supportive working environment

    * Long-term job security with a growing business

    * Opportunities to develop within the finance team

    If you're an experienced Purchase Ledger Clerk looking for your next opportunity with a successful and expanding construction business, we'd love to hear from you
