How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    We are recruiting for a Continuous Improvement Manager to work on a permanent basis near Ashton Under Lyne.

    Salary is c£45-47,000 per annum plus 25 days' holiday and bank holidays, company bonus, pension, healthcare etc.

    About the Continuous Improvement Manager role:

    This is an excellent opportunity for someone with a strong engineering background who is passionate about driving operational excellence, improving manufacturing processes, and supporting business growth.

    Working closely with the senior leadership team, you will lead continuous improvement initiatives, identify opportunities to increase efficiency, and help implement strategic improvements across the manufacturing operation.

    Key Responsibilities for the Continuous Improvement Manager:

    *

    Lead and coordinate continuous improvement projects across the business.

    *

    Identify opportunities to improve manufacturing processes, productivity, quality, and overall operational performance.

    *

    Monitor, measure, and report the progress of improvement initiatives to senior management.

    *

    Work collaboratively with departmental managers to deliver operational and business improvement projects.

    *

    Analyse existing processes and recommend practical solutions that deliver measurable results.

    *

    Interpret engineering drawings and technical specifications to support process improvements.

    *

    Promote a safe working culture while ensuring high housekeeping and workplace organisation standards are maintained.

    The successful Continuous Improvement Manager will have:

    *

    A strong engineering background within a manufacturing environment.

    *

    Previous experience in a Continuous Improvement, Operational Excellence, Manufacturing Improvement, or Business Improvement role.

    *

    Experience within sheet metal, precision engineering, aerospace, or another highly regulated manufacturing environment would be advantageous.

    *

    The ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and technical documentation.

    *

    Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and project management skills.

    *

    Strong communication skills with the confidence to work alongside senior stakeholders and influence positive change.

    *

    Good IT and commercial awareness with the ability to analyse data and identify improvement opportunities.

    This role would suit an ambitious engineering professional with a proven track record of delivering continuous improvement projects and supporting operational growth within a manufacturing environment.
