How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

Registered Manager - Children's Residential Home

    Location: Greater Manchester

Salary: Up to £60,000 + Benefits

Build an Outstanding Children's Home From Day One

A growing children's residential care provider is seeking an experienced Registered Manager to lead the opening of a brand-new children's home in Greater Manchester.

Supporting children and young people aged 8-17 with Emotional & Behavioural Difficulties (EBD) and Learning Disabilities (LD), this is a unique opportunity to join during the pre-registration phase and play a key role in creating an exceptional home from the very beginning.

Working within a trauma-informed and therapeutic model of care, you'll have the opportunity to shape the culture, recruit your team and establish a service with the ambition of achieving an Outstanding Ofsted rating.

    The Role

As the Registered Manager, you'll have overall responsibility for the day-to-day management of the home, ensuring the highest standards of care and full compliance with Children's Homes Regulations.

    Key responsibilities include:

Registering with Ofsted as the Registered Manager.
Leading, developing and inspiring a residential care team.
Creating a safe, nurturing and therapeutic environment where young people can thrive.
Overseeing care planning, risk assessments and behaviour support plans.
Acting as the Designated Safeguarding Lead (DSL).
Ensuring compliance with the Children's Homes (England) Regulations 2015 and Quality Standards.
Managing Regulation 40 notifications, Regulation 44 visits and Regulation 45 quality assurance processes.
Building excellent relationships with local authorities, social workers, families and external professionals.
Managing staffing, budgets and overall operational performance.
Driving continuous improvement with the aim of achieving an Outstanding Ofsted rating.

    About You

    To be successful, you'll need:

Level 5 Diploma in Leadership & Management for Residential Childcare, or be working towards it.
A minimum of two years' experience in a senior or management position within a children's residential home.
Excellent knowledge of the Children's Homes (England) Regulations 2015 and Quality Standards.
Experience of Ofsted inspections, ideally achieving Good or Outstanding outcomes.
Strong safeguarding knowledge with experience as a Designated Safeguarding Lead.
Excellent leadership, communication and organisational skills.
A full UK driving licence. Experience of opening a new children's home or supporting children with both EBD and Learning Disabilities would be advantageous but is not essential.

    What's on Offer?

    Salary up to £60,000
    Additional sleep-in payments where required.
The opportunity to lead the development of a brand-new children's home.
Genuine autonomy to shape the culture and standards of the service.
    Supportive leadership from experienced professionals.
Ongoing training, professional development and career progression.
The chance to build a service recognised for delivering outstanding outcomes for children and young people. If you're an ambitious Registered Manager looking for the opportunity to build and lead a high-quality children's residential service from the ground up, we'd love to hear from you.
