Finance isn't just about the numbers. It's about influencing decisions. If you're a qualified Finance Business Partner who enjoys building relationships, challenging assumptions and helping operational teams make better financial decisions, this could be the opportunity you've been looking for.
We're recruiting on behalf of a well-established social housing organisation seeking a commercially minded Finance Business Partner to support one of its key operational directorates. Working closely with senior budget holders, you'll become a trusted adviser, helping shape financial performance through insightful reporting, forecasting and business partnering. Rather than simply producing management accounts, you'll be out in the business, understanding operational priorities, challenging expenditure, identifying opportunities and helping managers make informed decisions.
The Opportunity
You'll work alongside an experienced finance team and will be responsible for:
Partnering with operational managers and budget holders
Producing monthly management accounts and insightful commentary
Leading budgeting, forecasting and reforecasting activities
Challenging financial performance and identifying efficiencies
Presenting financial information to non-finance stakeholders
Developing meaningful KPIs and performance reporting
Supporting business planning
Preparing regulatory and statutory financial returns
Building strong relationships across the wider organisation
Contributing to continuous improvement projects within finance
This is a genuine business partnering role where your ability to influence will be just as important as your technical accounting knowledge.
About You
You'll ideally be:
ACA / ACCA / CIMA qualified
An experienced Finance Business Partner or Management Accountant looking to step into a broader partnering role
Confident working with senior operational stakeholders
Comfortable explaining financial information to non-finance colleagues
Strong in budgeting, forecasting and management reporting
Commercially aware with excellent analytical skills
Advanced Excel user with experience of finance systems
Someone who enjoys improving processes and adding value
Experience within social housing would be advantageous but is by no means essential. We'd also welcome applications from candidates from the wider public sector, charities, education or commercial organisations who have strong business partnering experience.
