How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Shift Leader – Critical Environment

    Canary Wharf, London (E14)

    £60,000 + Overtime + Excellent Benefits

    An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Shift Leader to join a leading provider of critical engineering services, working at a prestigious mission-critical site in Canary Wharf.

    This is a hands-on leadership role where you'll be responsible for the day-to-day operation of a critical facility, ensuring the highest levels of uptime, compliance, and service delivery.

    The Role

    * Lead the day-to-day engineering operations across a critical environment.

    * Manage and support a team consisting of one M&E Shift Engineer and one ICT Engineer.

    * Ensure all planned and reactive maintenance is completed safely and efficiently.

    * Maintain high standards of health & safety, compliance, and operational excellence.

    * Act as the first point of escalation for technical issues and site incidents.

    * Liaise with clients, specialist contractors, and internal stakeholders.

    * Assist with permit control, isolations, and safe systems of work.

    * Support continuous improvement initiatives across the site.

    Working Pattern

    * Continental Shift Pattern (Days & Nights)

    * 6am – 6pm / 6pm – 6am

    * On-site parking available.

    About You

    * Previous experience in a Shift Leader, Lead Engineer, or Supervisory role within a critical environment.

    * Strong electrical or mechanical building services background.

    * HV knowledge or experience is highly desirable.

    * Excellent leadership and communication skills.

    * Experience within a data centre would be advantageous, although engineers from other critical environments such as banking, healthcare, pharmaceutical, or manufacturing are encouraged to apply.

    Package

    * Salary: £60,000

    * Minimum of 20 days overtime available each year, primarily covering the opposite Shift Leader's annual leave.

    * On-site parking.

    * Opportunity to work within a state-of-the-art critical facility.

    * Training and career progression with a leading engineering business.

    If you're an experienced engineer looking to take the next step in your career or an established Shift Leader seeking a new challenge in a high-profile critical environment, we'd love to hear from you. Apply today for a confidential discussion
