How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Project Manager - Highways | Up to £75,000 | Deliver Major National Highways Schemes Across the North

My client is seeking two talented professionals to join their growing delivery team, overseeing projects on National Highways' Scheme Delivery Framework across the North West, North East and Yorkshire.

    Working as a Project Manager - Highways, you will join a collaborative business committed to delivering exceptional outcomes for clients, stakeholders and local communities.
    What You Will Be Doing
    As a Project Manager - Highways, you will be responsible for leading the successful delivery of projects across National Highways Areas 10, 13 and 14. You will be managing schemes from inception through to completion while ensuring projects are delivered safely, on time and within budget.
    You will be:
    ·Leading customer-focused project teams to deliver high-quality projects safely and efficiently.
    ·Managing highways projects on the National Highways Scheme Delivery Framework.
    ·Building strong relationships with clients, stakeholders and local communities.
    ·Ensuring compliance with contractual requirements, governance processes and industry standards.
    ·Driving commercial performance through effective cost management, forecasting and financial accountability.
    ·Promoting a positive health, safety and wellbeing culture across project teams.
    ·Mentoring and developing team members to support continuous improvement.
    ·Managing multiple project priorities while maintaining exceptional delivery standards.
    What You'll Need
    To be successful in this Project Manager - Highways role, you will ideally have:
    ·Significant experience delivering highways construction projects, including road construction and drainage works.
    ·Previous experience working on the Strategic Road Network.
    ·Experience working for a Tier 1 contractor.
    ·Experience managing project portfolios valued up to £15 million.
    ·Strong commercial awareness with excellent programming and contract management knowledge.
    ·Working knowledge of NEC4 contracts and project financial management.
    ·Good understanding of NEC or ICE contract conditions and programme management.
    ·Degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management or a related discipline, relevant professional qualification or equivalent practical experience.
    ·SMSTS certification.
    ·Valid CSCS Card.
    ·Knowledge of Lean or Six Sigma methodologies would be advantageous.
    ·Excellent leadership, communication, stakeholder management and problem-solving skills.

    Salary: Up to £75,000, dependent on experience.
