How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    International Payroll Specialist
Location: London (Hybrid – typically office-based but flexibility available)
    Salary: £55,000–£65,000
    Contract: Permanent
    Reports to: Finance Director
    About the Business
A rapidly growing international organisation operating across the UK and Europe. Following significant European expansion over the last 12–18 months, they're building their first in-house international payroll function, creating an excellent opportunity for someone who wants to shape payroll processes in a scaling business.
    The Role
This is a newly created standalone International Payroll Specialist position with responsibility for European payroll operations. Payroll is currently outsourced across each country, and you'll oversee vendor management, compliance and payroll delivery while helping bring more payroll activities in-house as the business continues to grow.
The role currently covers payroll across Finland, the Netherlands, Ireland and Norway, with future expansion planned into Denmark, Germany and Spain. Finland is the priority country, although candidates with broader European payroll experience across one or more of the key countries will also be considered.
This is an autonomous role suited to someone who enjoys building processes, working independently and helping develop an international payroll function from the ground up.
    Key Responsibilities
    * Manage end-to-end payroll operations across multiple European countries through external payroll providers.
    * Coordinate payroll inputs, approvals, reconciliations and payroll reporting.
    * Ensure payroll compliance with local legislation, statutory payments and tax requirements across multiple jurisdictions.
    * Manage starters, leavers, contractual changes, bonuses, deductions and employee payroll queries.
    * Liaise with external payroll providers, finance teams and local payroll consultants.
    * Reconcile payroll data and support internal and external audits.
    * Maintain payroll records, documentation and reporting using advanced Excel.
    * Support the long-term transition of payroll activities from outsourced providers to an in-house model.
    * Identify opportunities to improve payroll processes and support continued international expansion.
    What They're Looking For
    * 3–5 years' experience managing international payroll across Europe.
    * Strong experience processing end-to-end payroll across multiple countries.
    * Previous exposure to Nordic payrolls is highly desirable, with Finland being the priority market.
    * Experience working with outsourced payroll providers and multiple payroll vendors.
    * Advanced Excel skills.
    * Strong understanding of international payroll legislation and compliance.
    * Confident working independently with minimal supervision.
    * Excellent communication skills with the ability to manage relationships across multiple countries.
    * Experience with payroll systems such as NMBRS, Tripletex, Visma, Mepco, Hogia or similar would be advantageous.
