How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Control & Instrumentation Engineer to join a leading specialist manufacturer in Norfolk.

    This role is ideal for an experienced C&I Engineer looking to work within a technically advanced process manufacturing environment, supporting the reliability, safety and continuous improvement of complex production facilities.

    The Role

    The successful candidate will be responsible for the design, development, maintenance and optimisation of control and instrumentation systems across multiple process plants. Working closely with production and engineering teams, the role will focus on improving plant performance, supporting automation projects and ensuring compliance with industry regulations.

    Key Responsibilities

    * Design, develop and maintain control and instrumentation systems.

    * Test, fault-find and modify existing PLC, SCADA and DCS systems.

    * Develop and implement control system improvements to optimise plant performance.

    * Support automation, continuous improvement and capital project activities.

    * Modify and develop PLC software using Rockwell and/or Siemens S7 platforms.

    * Provide technical support for complex process control and instrumentation issues.

    * Manage and coordinate external automation contractors where required.

    * Produce technical documentation and project reports.

    * Participate in an out-of-hours engineering support rota. (on call uplift on offer)

    About You

    Applicants should possess:

    * HNC/HND (or equivalent) in Control Engineering, Electrical Engineering or Electronic Engineering.

    * A minimum of three years' experience working with PLC and SCADA systems within an industrial or manufacturing environment.

    * Experience programming, modifying and fault-finding on Rockwell and/or Siemens S7 PLCs.

    * Strong understanding of industrial instrumentation, control systems and process automation.

    * Experience working within manufacturing or process industries.
