How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    Renewables Electrician – Overview
    We are currently working with an established Renewable Energy company based in South Wales who are looking for experienced Electricians to join the team who would be interested in training up on renewables. The company operate within a 90 minute radius of Cwmbran, installing and maintaining Heat Pumps, Solar PV, Battery Storage, Fans, Storage Heaters, Smart Controls, Insulation and much more.
    This role would be suited to either an experienced Renewables Electrician or someone looking for training to get into the industry. Even if you’re newly qualified, they’d be happy to support your development!
    You will be installing Solar PV & Battery Storage Systems, Fans, Storage Heaters, wiring up Heat Pumps and much more. They do a mixture of grant funded and private domestic work. The grant funded scheme work is typically Solar only and tends to be smaller jobs. They often complete multiple properties in the same geographical area. If you have multiple properties in the same location, this is when you’d have to chance to complete 2 in one day but only if it makes sense. If there is significant travel between sites, you would only be expected to complete 1 that day. There are sometimes additional ‘add-ons’ with the scheme work such as storage heaters or a battery, if this is the case, you would be on that job only for the day.
    On the private domestic side, the systems can be slightly larger and may have a battery as well, in this case it would be your only job for the day also. You will pick up all materials in the morning in Cwmbran before travelling to site. They are looking into changing this so that materials are delivered to site ahead of time. All scaffolding will be up in place for when you arrive meaning you can start straight away without having to wait for the scaffolders to arrive.
    They can offer you training on a range of systems as well as opportunities for development and progression. The company pride themselves on their ability to promote from within and help employees to further their careers.
    Renewables Electrician – Requirements
    * Experience on Solar and Battery installations
    * Qualified with 18th Edition, NVQ Level 2/3

    * Basic Salary up to £45,000
    * Bonus Scheme
    * Company Van & Fuel Card
