How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Key Account Manager

    Location: Brownhills, Staffordshire

    Salary: Excellent DOE + Bonus + Car + Benefits

    Are you a high performing Key Account Manager, Technical Sales, Business Development Manager or Technical Sales Engineer, on the rise of your career in a customer facing role, who would like to work for a highly profitable manufacturing Plc based in the North Midlands/Staffordshire borders? Reporting into the Sales Director, a vacancy has arisen for a Key Account Manager, focussed on developing relationships with the European customer base and spotting new opportunities to increase revenue. Working as part of a dynamic commercial team, in a fast-paced production environment, you will sell castings and machined parts to the Truck, Commercial Vehicle/Automotive and general engineering markets.

    The Role:

    * Look after and grow a group of important customer accounts across the commercial vehicle and engineering sectors.

    * Build strong working relationships with customers at different levels, including purchasing, quality, engineering, logistics, project teams and senior managers.

    * Create clear account plans that highlight opportunities, margin improvements, contract risks and longer-term growth potential.

    * Be the main day-to-day contact for assigned customers, making sure communication is clear, timely and helpful.

    * Spot opportunities for new projects, product supply, technical services, process improvements, aftermarket support and contract renewals.

    * Help manage new part projects so customers can build and test their products on time, including sourcing the services and products needed for each project.

    * Prepare and present quotations and contract information in a clear and professional way.

    * Lead commercial discussions, negotiations and framework agreement renewals.

    * Keep track of account performance, sales pipeline, revenue forecasts, customer feedback and market activity.

    * Help resolve customer issues by bringing the right internal teams together and keeping everyone updated.

    The Person:

    * A technical qualification in an engineering discipline e.g. NVQ level 5 or higher, apprentice trained or graduate. Training in strategic account management, consultative selling, solution selling or negotiation would be useful.

    * You will be a KAM, Technical Sales Manager, Business Development Manager or in Customer Relationship Management ideally selling into the automotive, engineering or manufacturing industries.

    * Experience of working with OEMs, Tier 1 suppliers, industrial manufacturers, automotive or similar technical sectors is ideal.

    * A good understanding of engineering customers and how purchasing, technical, operational and project teams make decisions.

    * A proven record of keeping key customers, growing sales, improving margins and building long-term commercial relationships.

    * Experience looking after complex accounts, longer sales cycles, technical proposals or customers with more than one site.

    * Good commercial awareness, including pricing, margins, forecasting, contract terms and negotiation.

    * Confidence discussing technical products, drawings, specifications, service requirements or engineered solutions with customers and internal teams.

    * A team player, able to problem solve and deliver technical solutions to customers.

    * An inquisitive and energised person with a driven personality is sought who has a thirst for learning.

    * Excellent communication, interpersonal and negotiation skills.

    * Comfortable using CRM systems, Microsoft Office and sales reporting tools.

    * Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel to customer sites worldwide.
