How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    FLT Counterbalance Operative (Packing Department)

    £14.05 per hour
    Monday to Friday | 8-hour shifts
    HU12, Hull
    Temporary to Permanent Opportunity

    Prestige Recruitment Specialists are currently recruiting for an FLT Counterbalance Operative to join a busy manufacturing and production environment based in the HU12 area of Hull.

    This is an excellent opportunity for a reliable and hardworking individual with a valid, in-date Counterbalance Forklift Truck Licence looking for ongoing work, with the potential for permanent employment based on performance, work ethic and attitude.

    Working within the Packing Department, you will be responsible for the safe and efficient packing, handling and movement of finished products while operating a Counterbalance FLT to support production and warehouse activities. You will also help maintain high standards of quality, cleanliness and health and safety.

    The Role:

    Operating a Counterbalance Forklift Truck safely and efficiently
    Loading batches into kegging stations
    Moving finished products and pallets to the goods store
    Loading, unloading and transporting materials around site
    Following batch card instructions and customer specifications
    Carrying out checks on equipment and workstations
    Packing, banding and wrapping pallets
    Completing production records and batch information accurately
    Maintaining a clean and safe working environment
    Checking and cleaning equipment as required
    Reporting any issues, faults or unusual findings to the relevant supervisor
    Following all health and safety procedures
    Carrying out any other reasonable duties as required

    About You:

    A valid, in-date Counterbalance Forklift Truck Licence is essential
    Previous experience operating a Counterbalance FLT within a manufacturing, production or warehouse environment
    Experience within packing or production is advantageous
    A strong work ethic and reliable attitude
    Good attention to detail
    The ability to follow instructions and work to established procedures
    Comfortable working in a hands-on, physically active role
    A positive attitude and willingness to learn
    The ability to work safely as part of a teamWorking Hours: Monday to Friday, 8-hour shifts (exact shift times to be confirmed)

    Pay Rate: £14.05 per hour

    Start Date: 1st September 2026

    There are currently two opportunities available, with the potential for one or both positions to become permanent depending on individual performance and the future needs of the business.
