How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Business Lead / General Manager

    Are you an experienced engineering leader looking for the opportunity to take ownership of a specialist pump engineering business?

    Our client is looking for a commercially minded Business Lead / General Manager to oversee the day-to-day running of a well-established pump service, maintenance and engineering business. You'll lead a team of office staff, workshop personnel and field service engineers whilst driving operational performance, customer satisfaction and business growth.

    This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys being hands-on, leading people and making a genuine impact within a growing engineering organisation.

    The Role

    * Lead the day-to-day operations of a specialist pump engineering business.

    * Manage office staff, workshop personnel and field service engineers.

    * Drive operational performance, service delivery and customer satisfaction.

    * Take responsibility for budgets, profitability and overall business performance.

    * Develop existing customer relationships whilst identifying opportunities for growth.

    * Support business development and commercial activities.

    * Mentor, develop and motivate the existing team.

    * Ensure high standards of health & safety, quality and operational excellence.

    About You

    We'd love to hear from candidates currently working as:

    * General Manager

    * Business Lead

    * Operations Manager

    * Service Manager

    * Branch Manager

    * Engineering Manager

    * Aftermarket Manager

    *

    You'll ideally have:

    * Experience leading engineering or service teams.

    * A background within pumps, rotating equipment, mechanical engineering, HVAC, industrial equipment or a related engineering sector.

    * Commercial awareness with responsibility for budgets, profitability and operational performance.

    * Strong leadership and people management skills.

    * The ability to build lasting customer relationships and develop business opportunities.

    * A hands-on approach with a passion for leading engineering teams and driving continuous improvement.
