How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    Contracts Manager

    PFI Healthcare Contract | Orkney & Inverness
    Excellent Salary + Car Allowance + Bonus + Benefits

    FM Search & Select are delighted to be partnering with a leading facilities management provider to recruit an experienced Contracts Manager to oversee a prestigious healthcare contract.

    This is an exciting opportunity to join an established FM business, taking responsibility for a technically demanding PFI healthcare environment while leading a multi-disciplinary team and building strong client relationships.

    The successful candidate will split their time between sites in Orkney and Inverness, with regular travel to Orkney required. Typically, this will involve spending several days each week—or, at times, the full working week—on the island, depending on operational requirements. Candidates based in Inverness are particularly well suited to the role due to the location of one of the contract sites, although we would also welcome applications from those based across the Highlands and Aberdeen who are comfortable with the travel involved.

    The Opportunity

    This is a varied leadership role where you'll have full responsibility for the operational, commercial and contractual performance of a busy healthcare facilities contract. You'll lead a team of engineers and subcontractors, ensuring statutory compliance, exceptional service delivery and a positive customer experience, while identifying opportunities to improve performance and develop the contract.

    This role offers plenty of autonomy and would suit an experienced Contracts Manager who enjoys leading from the front and developing high-performing teams.

    Key Responsibilities

    * Lead the delivery of hard FM services across a busy healthcare environment.

    * Manage the day-to-day performance of engineering teams and specialist subcontractors.

    * Take ownership of contract budgets, financial performance and commercial targets.

    * Build and maintain strong relationships with client stakeholders.

    * Ensure statutory compliance and Health & Safety standards are consistently achieved.

    * Oversee planned maintenance, lifecycle works and minor projects.

    * Monitor KPIs and contractual performance, implementing continuous improvements.

    * Produce operational and financial reports for senior management.

    * Drive a culture of safety, accountability and excellent customer service.

    * Support, coach and develop your team to maximise engagement and performance.

    About You

    We're keen to speak with experienced Contracts Managers who have managed technical FM contracts within healthcare, PFI or other highly regulated environments.

    You'll ideally have:

    * Experience managing hard FM or technical facilities management contracts.

    * Strong commercial and financial management skills.

    * Proven experience leading multi-disciplinary engineering teams.

    * Excellent client relationship and stakeholder management skills.

    * A good understanding of statutory compliance, asset management and Health & Safety.

    * Experience delivering against KPIs and service level agreements.

    * A relevant qualification within Facilities Management, Building Services or Engineering.

    IOSH, NEBOSH or similar Health & Safety qualifications would be advantageous.

    What's on Offer?

    * Competitive salary up to £70,000

    * Car allowance.

    * Annual bonus.

    * Comprehensive benefits package.

    * Long-term career development with a leading FM organisation.

    * Opportunity to manage a prestigious healthcare contract.

    * Autonomy to make a real impact across a high-profile portfolio.

    If you're looking for a role that combines operational leadership, commercial responsibility and the opportunity to work across some of Scotland's most unique healthcare facilities, we'd love to hear from you
