How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Python Developer

    On site Birmingham | £45,000 - £55,000 + Bonus + Benefits

    We're recruiting for an experienced Python Developer to join a successful and growing manufacturing business, helping to develop, support and enhance business-critical applications, data platforms, integrations and automation solutions.

    This is a hands-on role for an experienced developer who enjoys solving complex technical challenges, improving system reliability and delivering solutions that drive real business value.

    Key Responsibilities

    Develop and support internal applications, APIs, integrations and data pipelines.
    Troubleshoot and resolve issues across web applications, databases and cloud platforms.
    Drive automation initiatives to reduce manual processes and improve efficiency.
    Translate business requirements into scalable technical solutions.
    Contribute to code reviews, testing, CI/CD and release processes.
    Support the ongoing development of reporting, analytics and AI-enabled solutions.Skills & Experience

    Minimum 5 years' software development experience.
    Strong hands-on experience with Python, React, TypeScript, SQL, FastAPI, BigQuery, MongoDB and GCP.
    Experience with APIs, integrations, cloud deployment and data pipelines.
    Strong SQL and data modelling skills.
    Knowledge of CI/CD, testing and production support.
    Ability to communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.Desirable

    SAP ERP experience.
    Manufacturing sector experience.
    Exposure to AI, automation and data warehousing solutions.Package
