The Opportunity
Our client is looking to recruit an experienced Tube Laser Operator to join their growing team in Poynton/Stockport.
Working within a busy steel processing environment, you'll be responsible for operating tube laser machinery, ensuring products are manufactured to the highest quality standards while supporting efficient production output. Key Responsibilities
Operate tube laser machinery to cut steel accurately in line with cutting specifications.
Safely operate 5-ton overhead gantry cranes using radio remote and pendant controls.
Operate forklifts, side loaders, Combi lifts, and other mobile plant (where trained and authorised).
Work to production schedules and instructions from the Foreman to achieve daily targets.
Carry out pre-use inspections on lasers, cranes, machinery, and mobile plant.
Complete production paperwork and stock checks accurately.
Perform quality inspections using measuring equipment to ensure products meet specification.
Maintain high housekeeping standards and keep the work area clean and organised.
Follow all Health & Safety procedures, PPE requirements, and safe systems of work in accordance with ISO 45001:2018.
Report machinery defects, accidents, incidents, and near misses promptly.
About You
Previous experience operating tube laser machinery or similar CNC laser cutting equipment.
Experience within a steel processing, manufacturing, warehouse, or industrial environment.
Overhead crane and/or forklift experience would be advantageous.
Strong understanding of workplace Health & Safety procedures.
Excellent attention to detail with the ability to work from technical cutting specifications.
Reliable, proactive, and able to work effectively as part of a team.
Comfortable working in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
