How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

When you see the world as we do, you see the chance to help the world take better care of its resources and help it become a better place for everyone.
As a Weighbridge Operator you'll be pushing for innovative solutions to create a more sustainable future for all. We know that everyone here at Veolia can help us work alongside our communities, look after the environment, and contribute to our inclusive culture.
    What we can offer you:
    * 25 days of annual leave
    * Access to our company/people's pension scheme
    * Discounts on everything from groceries to well known retailers
    * Access to a range of resources to support your physical, mental and financial health; so you can lean on us whenever you need to
    * 24 hour access to a virtual GP, 365 days a year, for you and family members in your household
    * One paid days leave every year to volunteer and support your community
    * Ongoing training and development opportunities, allowing you to reach your full potential
    What you'll be doing:
    * Operating the weighbridge to weigh vehicles entering and exiting the site, ensuring all weights are captured accurately.
    * Recording and storing all required information correctly, including waste types (codes) and supporting paperwork.
    * Controlling vehicle entry and exit to maintain safe traffic flow and ensure only compliant loads/materials are accepted.
    * Checking for and escalating non-compliant loads, including contamination and overweight vehicles, in line with site procedures.
    * Maintaining high standards of health, safety and environmental compliance: wearing correct PPE and keeping the weighbridge/working area clean and tidy.
    * Reporting service, safety and environmental issues promptly to your line manager, and stopping work immediately if a task is unsafe.
    * Reporting any offers of bribery in line with company policy.
    What we're looking for:
    * A strong safety-first mindset, with the confidence to stop work and escalate concerns when something isn't safe.
    * Excellent attention to detail and accuracy when recording weights, waste codes and paperwork.
    * Effective communication skills to liaise with drivers, colleagues and supervisors professionally and clearly.
    * Good time management and the ability to work efficiently in a busy, fast-moving environment.
    * A team-focused attitude and willingness to support the wider operations team on site.
    * Administration experience is desirable, with basic confidence using systems to input and maintain records.
    * Flexibility and reliability to work a shift-based role, including 12-hour shifts, nights, weekends and bank holidays.
