How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Group Stock Controller

Peterborough | 35 Hours Per Week | Competitive Salary (DOE) + Performance Bonus

Interaction Recruitment are proud to be partnering with a fantastic client to recruit an experienced Group Stock Controller. This is an exciting opportunity to join a well-established and growing business at a key stage of its expansion, where you'll have the chance to make a genuine impact, influence processes and play an integral role in the continued success of the company.

If you're an experienced stock professional who enjoys analysing data, improving warehouse efficiency and taking ownership of inventory management, this could be the perfect next step in your career.

    The Opportunity

This is a highly visible role, reporting directly to the Operations & Finance Director, where you'll be responsible for overseeing stock management across multiple warehouse locations. You'll work closely with the warehouse team and senior management to ensure stock accuracy, maximise warehouse capacity and continuously improve operational performance.

This position offers the ideal blend of strategic planning and hands-on operational involvement, giving you the opportunity to shape processes, drive efficiencies and contribute to the future growth of the business.

    Key Responsibilities

    Your responsibilities will include:

Managing stock across multiple warehouse locations, ensuring accuracy and availability at all times.
Analysing warehouse capacity and optimising storage layouts to maximise space and efficiency.
Coordinating stock movements between sites to support customer demand and operational requirements.
Maintaining accurate stock records and ensuring company stock control procedures are consistently followed.
Leading and supporting regular stocktakes, investigating discrepancies and implementing corrective actions.
Monitoring and auditing third-party warehouse providers to ensure stock accuracy and service standards are maintained.
Forecasting stock requirements to support production planning and business growth.
Analysing slow-moving stock, batch splits and expiry dates to minimise waste and improve stock rotation.
Producing meaningful reports and analysing large data sets to support business decisions and KPI reporting.
Identifying opportunities for continuous improvement across stock management and warehouse operations.
Supporting warehouse activities during busy periods when required.
Coaching and supporting warehouse colleagues, including mentoring the Warehouse Supervisor.
Promoting high standards of health and safety, housekeeping and operational compliance.
    About You

We're looking for someone who is commercially aware, highly organised and passionate about delivering operational excellence. You'll be confident working with data, identifying trends and implementing improvements while building strong relationships across the business.

You'll be someone who enjoys taking ownership, solving problems and making informed decisions that positively impact the wider operation.

    Essential Experience

To be successful in this role you'll have:

Previous experience within stock control, inventory management or warehouse operations.
A strong understanding of stock management principles and inventory control.
Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including Pivot Tables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP and analysing large volumes of data.
Experience using stock management systems (Sage 200 experience would be advantageous but is not essential).
Experience producing reports, analysing KPIs and presenting findings.
Counterbalance and Reach Truck forklift experience or licences that can be refreshed.
Excellent organisational, communication and problem-solving skills.
    Personal Attributes

    You'll also possess:

    Excellent analytical and numerical skills.
    Exceptional attention to detail.
    A proactive and solutions-focused approach.
The ability to prioritise effectively within a fast-paced environment.
Strong interpersonal skills with the confidence to build relationships across all levels.
A continuous improvement mindset with a desire to make processes more efficient.
A hands-on approach and willingness to support the wider team when required.
    What's in it for You?

35-hour working week, offering an excellent work-life balance.
    Competitive salary dependent on experience.
    Performance-related bonus.
The opportunity to join a successful and expanding business with ambitious growth plans.
A role where your ideas and experience will be valued, and where you can genuinely influence the way the business operates.
    Long-term career development opportunities.
A supportive and collaborative working environment where your contribution will be recognised and rewarded.
If you're looking for a role where you can take ownership, drive improvements and become a key part of a growing business, we'd love to hear from you.
