How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Lift Technician

    Lift Tester, Senior Lift Engineer, Lift Engineering, Lift Industry
    Stratford, East London
    Basic Salary: £65,000 - £70,000 per annum (depending on experience)
    Additional Earnings: Standby allowance, call-out payments, paid travel, paid overtime

    Marmon Lift Recruitment is recruiting an experienced Lift Technician (NVQ Level 4 qualified or equivalent) to join a well-established and highly respected lift engineering company covering East London.
    This is an excellent opportunity to join a business with an outstanding reputation for technical excellence, where you'll work on a varied portfolio of passenger and goods lifts carrying out advanced testing, fault-finding, commissioning support, and technical diagnostics.     Commutable from: Stratford, Ilford, Romford, Barking, Dagenham, Walthamstow, Leyton, Woodford, Chingford, Canary Wharf, Hackney, Bow, East Ham, Beckton, Rainham, and surrounding areas.

    Key Responsibilities of a Lift Technician:

    Carry out lift testing, commissioning support, and advanced fault-finding across a varied portfolio of passenger and goods lifts.
    Diagnose complex electrical and mechanical faults, providing technical solutions to engineers and customers.
    Complete final testing on new installations, modernisations, and major repairs to ensure compliance with current standards.
    Support service and repair engineers with technical guidance on challenging faults where required.
    Accurately complete all testing documentation, reports, and certification.
    Work safely at all times, ensuring compliance with industry regulations, company procedures, and health & safety legislation.

    Requirements of a Lift Technician:

    NVQ Level 4 in Lift Engineering (or equivalent) - Essential.
    Full UK driving licence - Essential.
    Previous experience working as a Lift Technician / Lift Tester.
    Strong knowledge of lift testing, fault diagnosis, commissioning, and industry standards.
    Experience working across a range of lift manufacturers and control systems.
    Excellent technical problem-solving skills with the ability to work independently.
    Live within a commutable distance of East London.
