How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    Atheray Stone are currently looking for an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor to work for a Main Contractor on the Thames Water AMP8 Contract.

    This role is unique in the sense that it is not focusing on the delivery & commercial management of projects on the day to day, but a sharp focus on implementing better commercial processes within the framework and improving systems.

    Due to the nature of this role, office attendance will only be required a few times per month.

    Candidate Profile:

    * Degree Qualified in Quantity Surveying & Commercial Management (or similar)

    * Previous experience working within the Civil Engineering or Infrastructure sector.

    * Experience working on various contracts including NEC, Bespoke and Water specific contracts.

    * Previous Main Contracting experience

    * Full UK Driving Licence, ideally with own vehicle

    Key Responsibilities:

    * Working alongside Commercial Director & Commercial Manager, administer improved commercial processes within the Thames Water framework

    * Understand and scrutinise Cost Reporting & CVRs before they are presented

    * Understand and analyse cash flow protocols

    * Review existing and new terms of conditions with Sub Contractors

    * Play a key part in the rolling out of few excel cost reporting system

    * Display a sharp commercial acumen at all times and encourage a "done right first time" attitude

    * Identify areas where commercial processes can be improved in line with client expectations, and act upon them

    * Strong commercial administration & visibility across various projects concurrently

    * Be an overlay to site QS's and Commercial Management around new and existing processes in line with clients expectations
