How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Site Manager

    Location: Birmingham

    Contract Type: Full-Time, Permanent

    Salary: £45,000per annum + Company Car Allowance

    About the Role

    We are looking for an experienced and motivated Site Manager to lead the delivery of our Capital Works Kitchen and Bathroom replacement programme within the social housing sector. You will be responsible for managing planned improvement works across occupied and void properties, ensuring projects are delivered safely, on time, within budget, and to the highest standards of quality and customer satisfaction.

    As Site Manager, you will oversee all site operations, manage direct labour and subcontractors, monitor programme performance, and ensure compliance with health and safety legislation, building regulations, and company procedures. You will work closely with operational teams, residents, clients, and stakeholders to ensure the successful delivery of kitchen and bathroom refurbishment projects.

    Role Responsibilities
    Manage the day-to-day operational delivery of capital works kitchen and bathroom replacement programmes
    Lead and supervise site teams, subcontractors, suppliers, and specialist trades to ensure efficient project delivery
    Monitor project progress through regular site inspections and programme reviews
    Ensure all works are completed to the required quality standards, specifications, and agreed timescales
    Oversee kitchen and bathroom installations, including associated plumbing, electrical, flooring, plastering, tiling, decorating, and ventilation works
    Ensure works comply with building regulations, health and safety legislation, and client specifications
    Manage site health and safety, ensuring safe systems of work are implemented and maintained at all times
    Carry out site audits, inspections, toolbox talks, and quality checks, addressing any issues promptly
    Monitor subcontractor performance and ensure compliance with company policies and procedures
    Manage material deliveries, site logistics, and resource allocation to maintain programme targets
    Liaise with residents throughout the project, ensuring excellent customer service and minimising disruption to their homes
    Investigate and resolve any quality concerns, defects, or customer complaints in a timely manner
    Maintain accurate site records, programme updates, and project documentation
    Identify and mitigate project risks to ensure delivery targets are achieved
    Provide regular progress reports to Contracts Managers and senior stakeholders
    Ensure financial controls are maintained, including monitoring variations and supporting cost managementRole Criteria:
    Experience managing planned maintenance, capital works, refurbishment, or social housing projects.
    Proven experience delivering kitchen and bathroom replacement programmes.
    CSCS management card
    NVQ Level 6 in construction site management
    Strong knowledge of health and safety legislation, including CDM Regulations.
    Experience managing subcontractors, direct labour, and multiple trades on site.
    Ability to read and interpret specifications, drawings, and work programmes.
    Strong organisational and project management skills with the ability to manage multiple workstreams.
    Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
    Experience conducting site inspections, quality audits, and health and safety checks.
    Ability to resolve issues and make decisions in a fast-paced operational environment.
    Competent in using IT systems for reporting, planning, and project management.
