How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    We are seeking dedicated, patient and motivated SEN Teaching Assistants / Education Support Workers to work at a mainstream Sixth Form College in Leicester on a full-time and long-term basis. This role is ideal for anyone passionate about helping young people between the ages of 16-19 with additional needs succeed in a post‑16 setting.

    🌟 The role at a glance

    You'll be supporting learners aged 16-19 with a range of special educational needs, helping them access learning, build confidence and develop essential life and study skills. Your support will play a key role in their academic progress and personal development.

    💼 What you'll be doing

    Providing 1:1 and small group support for students with SEN, including ASD, ADHD, SEMH and learning difficulties.
    Assisting in classroom, workshop and vocational sessions.
    Encouraging independence, communication and social development.
    Working collaboratively with teachers, pastoral staff and external professionals.
    Supporting progress towards EHCP targets.
    Creating a safe, inclusive and positive learning environment.
    🎓 What we're looking for

    Recent experience supporting young people with SEN (education, care, youth work or similar backgrounds welcome).
    Hold GCSE's (or equivalent) in English, Maths and Science - essential for this role.
    A calm, empathetic and adaptable approach.
    Strong communication and relationship building skills.
    Ability to tailor support to individual needs.
    A genuine passion for helping young people achieve their goals.
    A valid DBS registered on the DBS Update Service (or willingness to apply)
