How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    Client: Our is a specialist mechanical and electrical (M&E) contractor delivering building services solutions across commercial, industrial, and infrastructure environments. Current turnover is excess of £50m, the company provides support across all stages of a project, including design coordination, installation and commissioning. Working alongside clients, consultants, and principal contractors, they are committed to delivering safe, efficient, and high-quality services that support the successful delivery and long-term performance of building operations.
    Role: Quality Assurance Manager (M&E) – Bristol - £300-£400 per day
    The Quality Assurance Manager will be responsible for developing, implementing and maintaining quality management processes across MEP of a new build school circa £10m. The role ensures that all mechanical, electrical, and public health installations are delivered in accordance with project specifications, applicable standards, regulatory requirements and company quality procedures. The position works closely with project managers, site teams, subcontractors, consultants, and clients to drive a culture of continuous improvement and right-first-time delivery.
    Roles and Responsibilities
    * Develop and maintain project-specific Quality Assurance (QA) and Quality Control (QC) plans for MEP works.
    * Ensure compliance with ISO 9001 and company quality management systems.
    * Review project specifications, drawings, technical submittals, and inspection requirements to ensure quality standards are clearly defined.
    * Establish inspection and test plans (ITPs) for mechanical, electrical, and public health installations.
    * Conduct regular site inspections and audits to verify compliance with approved drawings, specifications, and workmanship standards.
    * Monitor installation activities for HVAC, plumbing, pipework, electrical distribution, containment, lighting, fire alarm, and associated MEP systems.
    * Identify non-conformances, raise corrective actions, and ensure timely close-out of quality issues.
    * Support commissioning and handover activities, ensuring all quality documentation is complete and accurate.
    * Maintain quality records, inspection reports, test certificates, commissioning documentation, and handover packs.
    * Produce quality performance reports, audit findings, and trend analysis for senior management.
    * Ensure document control procedures are followed for all MEP quality-related records.
    * Liaise with clients, consultants, subcontractors, and internal project teams on quality-related matters.
    * Participate in progress meetings, technical reviews, and quality workshops.
    * Provide guidance and support to site engineers and supervisors on QA/QC requirements and best practice.
    * Analyse recurring quality issues and implement preventive measures.
    * Contribute to lessons-learned reviews and process improvement initiatives.
    * Promote a proactive quality culture across all projects and business units.
    Ideal Candidate
    * Proven experience in a Quality Assurance / Quality Control role within the MEP or building services sector.
    * Strong knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and public health systems and associated installation practices.
    * Familiarity with ISO 9001 quality management systems and auditing processes.
    * Ability to interpret technical drawings, specifications, commissioning requirements, and testing procedures.
    * Experience managing inspections, non-conformance reports (NCRs), corrective actions, and quality documentation.
    * Excellent organisational, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
    * Proficient in Microsoft Office and common construction quality management platforms
