How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

This is an excellent opportunity for an engineer with experience in escalators, moving walkways, lifts, automated machinery, material handling equipment, industrial maintenance, or other electro-mechanical systems to join a business that values technical expertise, customer service and career development.

Working from home, you'll be responsible for servicing, fault-finding, repairs and maintenance on a range of passenger transportation equipment across commercial, retail and public-sector environments.

Ensuring equipment remains safe, compliant and fully operational.
Completing service reports and maintenance documentation.
Supporting refurbishment, upgrade and modernisation projects.
Working closely with customers and site contacts to provide a high standard of service.
Adhering to all health, safety and compliance requirements.

We're keen to hear from engineers with experience in:

    Escalators and moving walkways.

    Field service engineering.
    Industrial plant maintenance.
    Conveyor and material handling systems.

The ability to work independently and manage your own workload.
    A proactive and safety-focused approach.
    Excellent customer-facing communication skills.
    Full UK Driving Licence.

    Desirable

NVQ Level 3 in Escalator Service & Repair.
Previous escalator or lift industry experience.
Experience working on passenger transportation equipment.
    Relevant engineering qualifications.

    What's On Offer

    £38-48k (based on experience)
    Paid overtime opportunities.
    Door-to-door travel paid.
    Company vehicle and fuel card.
    Company pension scheme.
    Holiday allowance plus bank holidays.
Uniform, PPE and specialist equipment provided.
    Ongoing training and development.
Clear progression opportunities within a growing engineering business.

    Work-Life Balance

Unlike many field service roles, engineers are generally allocated work within 90 minutes door-to-door from their home address, helping to minimise excessive travel and support a healthy work-life balance wherever possible.

    Why Apply?

This role offers the opportunity to join an established engineering organisation supporting critical passenger transportation equipment across a varied customer base. Whether you're already working within the escalator sector or you're a skilled engineer from a related background looking to move into the industry, you'll receive the support and training needed to develop your career further.

If you're a hands-on engineer who enjoys fault-finding, problem-solving and working independently in the field, we want to hear from you.
