How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    Interaction Engineering 

    Electrical Fitter / Panel Wirer 

    Location: Peterborough

    Our client is seeking an experienced Electrical Fitter / Panel Wirer to join their expanding engineering team based in Peterborough. This is an exciting opportunity to work on the build and assembly of bespoke machinery and automated systems within a modern manufacturing environment.

    We're looking for someone with a strong background in electrical fitting and control panel wiring, who is confident working with PLC systems and interpreting electrical schematics to deliver high-quality builds.

    Key Responsibilities

    Build, wire, and assemble electrical control panels to a high standard.

    Install and wire electrical components on bespoke machinery and automation equipment.

    Read and interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and engineering drawings.

    Carry out panel wiring, machine wiring, and electrical assembly work.

    Assist with PLC wiring, fault finding, and support during machine testing and commissioning.

    Perform electrical inspections and testing where required.

    Ensure all work complies with current electrical standards and health & safety regulations.

    Work collaboratively with mechanical fitters and the wider engineering team to deliver projects on time and to specification.

    About You

    Previous experience as an Electrical Fitter, Panel Wirer, Control Panel Builder, or Electrical Technician.

    Experience working with PLC-controlled machinery and associated wiring.

    Ability to confidently read and interpret electrical schematics and wiring diagrams.

    Strong electrical assembly, panel wiring, and machine wiring experience.

    Excellent fault-finding and problem-solving skills.

    Able to work independently as well as part of a team.

    A recognised electrical qualification (NVQ Level 3, City & Guilds, or equivalent) is desirable.
