How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    Job Title: Housing Team Leader
    Location: Birmingham
    Pay: £24-26 Umbrella
    Hours: 37.5 Monday to Friday
    Contract: 3 months secondment

    The Role

    We are recruiting on behalf of our client for an experienced Housing Team Leader to lead and support a front-line team delivering high-quality housing and support services to vulnerable young people. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with strong leadership skills and a passion for achieving positive outcomes.

    The successful candidate will oversee day-to-day service delivery, ensure safeguarding and compliance standards are maintained, coach and develop staff, and work collaboratively with internal teams and external agencies to deliver person-centred support.

    Key Responsibilities of a Housing Team Leader

    * Lead, supervise and motivate a team to deliver high-quality support services.

    * Manage staff performance, recruitment, training and development.

    * Oversee safeguarding, risk management and service compliance.

    * Ensure support plans are outcome-focused and regularly reviewed.

    * Build effective relationships with partner agencies and stakeholders.

    * Monitor KPIs, service performance and quality standards.

    * Manage incidents, complaints and complex cases.

    * Promote a positive, inclusive and psychologically informed working environment.

    About You

    Essential:

    * Experience leading teams within supported housing, homelessness, social care or youth services.

    * Strong knowledge of safeguarding, housing legislation and support planning.

    * Excellent leadership, communication and organisational skills.

    * Ability to manage competing priorities and make sound decisions.

    Desirable:

    * Relevant management or health and social care qualification.

    * Experience working with young people with complex needs.

    * Knowledge of Psychologically Informed Environments (PIE) and trauma-informed practice.
