How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Service Leader

    Location: Huddersfield

    Salary: £35,000 - £42,000 per annum (depending on experience and qualifications)

    Our client is looking for an inspiring Service Leader to oversee several supported living and/or community services in the Huddersfield area.     About the Role

    As a Service Leader, you will provide operational leadership across your services, ensuring people receive high-quality, person-led care that promotes independence, choice, dignity, and the best possible outcomes.

    You will lead by example, inspire your team, drive continuous improvement, maintain regulatory compliance, and build strong relationships with families, professionals, and external stakeholders.

    This role offers the opportunity to influence service development while helping shape a positive culture where colleagues feel supported, valued, and empowered.

    Key Responsibilities

    Service Leadership

    Lead and manage one or more services to deliver exceptional person-centred support.
    Ensure care and support plans reflect the goals, aspirations and needs of the people supported.
    Promote positive risk-taking and independence.
    Drive continuous improvement through quality assurance processes and KPI monitoring.
    Develop and implement improvement plans where required.
    Encourage innovation, community engagement and partnership working.
    Ensure services operate efficiently while meeting contractual, regulatory and quality standards.
    Actively involve the people supported in shaping service delivery.

    People Leadership

    Inspire, motivate and develop high-performing teams.
    Coach and support colleagues through regular supervision, performance management and development planning.
    Foster an inclusive, collaborative and positive working culture.
    Promote your service as a great place to work and support recruitment and retention.
    Identify future leaders and encourage career progression.
    Maintain effective communication across teams and the wider organisation.

    Operational Excellence

    Lead services through change and continuous improvement initiatives.
    Encourage effective use of digital systems and technology.
    Support environmental, social and corporate responsibility initiatives.
    Contribute to regional growth and service development.

    Compliance & Governance

    Ensure compliance with all relevant legislation, policies and regulatory standards.
    Manage operational and clinical risks appropriately.
    Lead safeguarding practices and promote a positive risk enablement culture.
    Prepare services for inspections and maintain excellent standards of governance.
    Manage service budgets effectively and ensure resources are used efficiently.

    About You

    We're looking for someone who is passionate about delivering outstanding care and has the leadership skills to inspire others.

    You will ideally have:

    Experience leading teams within health or social care.
    Strong knowledge of person-centred care planning.
    Experience managing quality, compliance and service performance.
    Excellent leadership, coaching and communication skills.
    Experience managing budgets and resources.
    Confidence building relationships with families, professionals and external agencies.
    Strong organisational and problem-solving abilities.
    Good IT and digital system skills.

    Desirable

    Level 5 Diploma in Leadership for Health & Social Care (or equivalent).
    Nursing, Social Work or other relevant professional qualification.
    Evidence of continuing professional development.
    Experience working with Care Quality Commission regulations and inspection processes.
    Experience working across multiple services or sites.
    Experience working with multidisciplinary teams and participating in case reviews.
