How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

Job Role - Electrical Project Manager

Location: Hybrid remote, with home working, site attendance, client visits, and occasional travel as required
    Coverage: UK-wide
    Type: Permanent
    Reporting to: Head of Operations

    Role overview

Virtua is seeking an Electrical Project Manager to lead the delivery of electrical projects across the UK, with a particular emphasis on appointing someone who brings a strong ICP project management background. The role will cover EV, ICP, and wider electrical works, with responsibility for managing projects through the full lifecycle from early survey and pre-construction activity through to delivery, energisation, and final handover.

This role is suited to a technically strong, commercially aware, client-facing project manager who can take ownership of delivery, coordinate multiple stakeholders, and drive performance across subcontractor teams. A background working within an ICP environment is essential, and experience working with UKPN as an ICP is strongly preferred.

    Key responsibilities

The Electrical Project Manager will take full responsibility for the planning, coordination, and delivery of projects across all works that fall within an ICP’s remit, alongside EV and wider electrical packages. This will include overseeing projects from initial survey, scope review, and pre-construction coordination through to installation, DNO and IDNO liaison, energisation planning, commissioning, and handover.

The role will have direct responsibility for programme management, commercial performance, subcontractor control, client communication, health and safety leadership, quality, and overall project delivery. You will be expected to manage subcontractor performance across electrical and associated works, ensure standards are met on site, maintain momentum across live projects, and drive issues through to resolution.

You will also lead commercial activity across your projects, including ownership of change control, valuations, variations, and wider commercial management. In addition, the role will involve coordination and review of technical information, input into design-related matters where required, and likely involvement in tender support, scope development, and pricing input for new opportunities.

A core part of the role will be managing interfaces with DNO and IDNO stakeholders to support approvals, coordination, outages, and energisation activities. The successful candidate will need to maintain strong control of project documentation, reporting, and delivery systems while ensuring that electrical works progress safely, compliantly, and in line with client expectations
