How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    Building Optimisation Engineer Trend & Tridium (Niagara) SpecialistNot Just Another BMS Role. Build Smarter Buildings. Shape the Future.
    You're the engineer people call when buildings aren't performing as they should.
    You know that great Building Management Systems don't just keep buildings running—they make them smarter, more efficient, more sustainable and more comfortable for the people inside them.
    If you're passionate about getting the very best from Trend and Tridium Niagara systems, enjoy solving complex engineering challenges and want to work on projects that genuinely make a difference, we'd like to hear from you.
    Our client is helping organisations transform the way their buildings perform. From commercial offices and healthcare facilities to education, and critical environments, we deliver intelligent optimisation that reduces energy consumption, lowers carbon emissions and improves operational performance.
    We're looking for engineers who don't just maintain systems—they improve them.
    What You'll Be Doing
    No two days are the same.
    One day you'll be analysing building performance data to uncover hidden energy savings. The next, you'll be redesigning control strategies, commissioning plant, integrating smart technologies or helping a customer achieve ambitious Net Zero targets.
    You'll have the freedom to make recommendations, challenge conventional thinking and deliver solutions that create measurable results.
    Your work will include:
    * Optimising Trend and Tridium Niagara Building Management Systems.
    * Developing intelligent control strategies that improve performance and reduce energy use.
    * Fine-tuning HVAC systems for maximum efficiency and occupant comfort.
    * Creating intuitive graphics, dashboards and performance reporting.
    * Diagnosing complex BMS and controls issues.
    * Supporting customers with technical expertise and trusted advice.
    * Delivering continuous improvement rather than reactive maintenance.
    * Working with the latest smart building technologies and open protocols.
    If you enjoy engineering that's analytical, challenging and rewarding, you'll feel right at home.
    What We're Looking For
    We're interested in people—not just CVs.
    You'll probably have experience with:
    Trend Building Management Systems: IQ Vision, SET, IQ Controllers, Strategy development, Commissioning, Fault finding, Networking.
    Tridium Niagara: Niagara N4, Workbench, Station engineering, PX Graphics, Alarms, Histories, Scheduling, Integrations
    You'll also have a solid understanding of HVAC plant and Building Services, including AHUs, boilers, chillers, heat pumps, pumps, valves and variable speed drives.
    Experience with BACnet, Modbus, MQTT or other open protocols is a real advantage.
    Here's what you can expect:
    * Salary up to 60k
    * Annual performance bonus.
    * Company vehicle
    * Pension and private healthcare.
    * Ongoing investment in Trend and Niagara certifications.
    * Exposure to industry-leading Smart Building and energy optimisation projects.
    * Genuine career progression
    * A supportive team that shares knowledge and celebrates success.
    * Opportunities to influence how buildings of the future are designed, controlled and optimised
    Why You'll Love Working Here
    We're building a team of engineers who want to do more than simply keep buildings operational.
    We invest in our people, encourage new ideas and give our engineers the trust and autonomy to deliver exceptional results.
    Ready for Your Next Challenge
    If you're an experienced BMS, Controls or Smart Buildings Engineer looking for more than routine service work, this is your opportunity to join a business that's investing in innovation, sustainability and the people who make it happen.
