How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

Multiskilled Maintenance Engineer (Electrical Bias) - Thetford
    £42,000 per annum | Full-time, Monday–Friday (40 hrs/week) | Rotating shifts: 06:00–14:30 / 14:00–22:30

A well-established manufacturing site in Thetford is on the lookout for an electrically biased Multiskilled Maintenance Engineer to strengthen its engineering team. This is a hands-on, varied position covering planned, preventative, and reactive maintenance across a wide range of production equipment.

You'll be joining a close-knit team where no two days look quite the same - one minute you could be running scheduled checks, the next diagnosing an unexpected fault or helping commission a new piece of kit. It's a great fit for someone who enjoys variety, takes pride in keeping things running smoothly, and wants to grow their skills in a genuinely supportive setting.

Scheduled servicing and inspections to keep machinery reliable and reduce unplanned stoppages
Fault-finding and repair across mechanical, electrical, hydraulic and pneumatic systems
Responding quickly to breakdowns to get lines back up and running
Helping install and commission new equipment as the site expands or upgrades
Keeping clear, accurate maintenance and fault records
Flagging ideas for improving efficiency and cutting unnecessary costs
Following all relevant health and safety procedures without exception
Working closely with production staff to spot problems early and head off future issues
    What you'll bring:

Solid maintenance engineering experience, ideally from a manufacturing or production background
A strong grasp of both mechanical and electrical systems, with real fault-finding experience
Hydraulics and pneumatics knowledge is a bonus, though not essential
A calm, methodical approach to problem-solving, whether working solo or as part of a team
Confidence communicating with people at all levels, from colleagues to managers
A solid understanding of workplace health and safety, plus any relevant trade qualifications (electrical, mechanical or general engineering)
This is a great opporutnity to join an established company in a busy, varied role that offers hands-on exposure to a broad mix of machinery and systems If this sounds liek your next opportunity, please APPLY NOW or contact Lewis at Select Recruitment for more information
