How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job Description

    As a Lighting Design Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in designing and implementing lighting solutions for customers across various industries.

    You’ll ensure functionality, aesthetics, and compliance with industry standards while collaborating with customers, suppliers, and internal teams to deliver exceptional results. This is your chance to make a real impact in a dynamic and growing field.

    Key Responsibilities:

    Develop lighting plans and schemes tailored to customer requirements, project goals, and budget constraints.
    Create detailed drawings and plans using CAD, Relux, and other specialist software.
    Ensure compliance with building regulations and industry standards.
    Select appropriate luminaires and controls for each project.
    Conduct site surveys, lux level tests, and ROI reports.
    Provide technical support and guidance to customers.
    Advise on switch specifications and value engineering projects with strategic suppliers.
    Manage projects, coordinate with suppliers, and ensure smooth installations with contractors.
    Build and maintain strong relationships with key customers through the branch network.

    Qualifications

    BUILDS NETWORKS - Effectively building formal and informal relationship networks inside and outside the organisationWhat we are looking for:

    Proficiency in Relux or Dialux, Draftsite, and AutoCAD.
    Proven recent experience in the lighting industry.
    Strong understanding of lighting technologies, controls, and energy-efficient solutions.
    Competence in Excel and completing spreadsheets.
    Ability to conduct lighting surveys and deliver professional presentations.
    LIA qualification in lighting design (desirable but not essential).
