What We're Looking For
Existing Ofsted Registered Manager, or an experienced Deputy Manager ready to step up
Level 5 Diploma in Leadership & Management for Residential Childcare (or working towards it)
Experience working within children's residential care, ideally supporting children with Emotional and Behavioural Difficulties (EBD)
Strong understanding of trauma-informed practice
Good knowledge of the Children's Homes (England) Regulations 2015 and Quality Standards
Experience with Regulation 44 and Regulation 45 processes
Strong understanding of safeguarding and safer recruitment
Previous involvement in achieving Good or Outstanding Ofsted outcomes is desirable
Strong leadership, organisational and communication skills
Enhanced DBS check
Full UK driving licence
Ability to commute to Walsall
Key Responsibilities
Lead the Ofsted registration process for the home
Prepare the home for its first Ofsted inspection and work towards a Good or Outstanding rating
Recruit, lead and develop a high-performing staff team
Create a safe, nurturing and child-centred environment
Ensure full compliance with Children's Homes Regulations, Quality Standards and safeguarding requirements
Oversee care planning, risk management and quality assurance
Manage the day-to-day running of the home
Build positive relationships with local authorities, families and partner agencies
Monitor compliance, performance and continuous improvement
Maintain accurate records and regulatory documentation
Ensure children and young people receive high-quality care and achieve positive outcomes
