How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

A well-established construction consultancy is seeking a Senior Project Manager to join its Birmingham team and take immediate responsibility for major residential developments. This is an excellent opportunity for a Senior Project Manager with strong consultancy experience to lead housing association and build-to-rent schemes ranging from approximately 150 to 400 units. The successful Senior Project Manager will manage projects through both pre-contract and post-contract stages, working closely with clients, consultants and contractors.

The Senior Project Manager will be expected to lead commissions confidently from the outset, maintaining control of programme, risk, quality and stakeholder communication. As the Senior Project Manager, you may also contribute to business development, client relationships and new opportunities where this is of interest.

You must have prior construction consultancy experience to be considered for this role.

    The Senior Project Manager's role

The Senior Project Manager will lead residential projects from feasibility and design through procurement, construction and completion. Responsibilities will include preparing project programmes, managing risk registers, coordinating design teams, chairing project meetings and producing clear progress reports.

The Senior Project Manager will oversee consultant appointments, procurement activity, contract administration, change control and project close-out. You will manage housing association and build-to-rent schemes of between 150 and 400 units, ensuring that each project meets the client's programme, quality and commercial objectives.

There will also be scope to support bids, develop client relationships and assist with business development activities.

    The Senior Project Manager

The successful Senior Project Manager will have:

Strong project management experience within a construction consultancy.
Experience leading residential, housing association or build-to-rent developments.
A relevant degree in Project Management, Construction Management, Quantity Surveying or a related discipline.
MRICS, MAPM or MCIOB status would be preferred, although chartership support can be provided.
Experience across both pre-contract and post-contract stages.
Good knowledge of JCT contracts and residential procurement routes.
Strong leadership, client-facing and stakeholder-management skills.

    In Return?

    £65,000 - £72,000
One day per week working from home.
    Support towards professional chartership.
    Exposure to major residential developments.
Opportunities to become involved in business development.
Pension, annual leave and professional-development support.
Clear progression within an established consultancy.
