How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Senior Sustainability Consultant

    Salary: £43,000 - £60,000 (dependent on experience)

    Location: Bristol

An exciting opportunity has become available for an experienced Senior Sustainability Consultant to join one of the UK's leading employee-owned building services engineering consultancies in their Bristol office.

This award-winning consultancy is recognised for delivering innovative, low-energy and sustainable building design across a broad range of sectors including commercial, residential, healthcare, education, science, workplace and public sector developments. Sustainability is at the heart of everything they do, with dedicated specialists working across net zero carbon, building performance, environmental assessment, wellbeing, materials and strategic sustainability advice.

As part of the Bristol team, you'll work on high-profile developments from concept through to completion, collaborating with mechanical, electrical and sustainability engineers to deliver practical, commercially focused solutions that help clients achieve ambitious environmental targets. This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to progress their career within a highly respected consultancy that offers genuine long-term development, technical excellence and the opportunity to influence the future direction of sustainability within the built environment.

    The Role

You'll manage your own portfolio of projects across multiple sectors, ensuring assessments are delivered on time, within budget and to the highest technical standard. Working closely with experienced sustainability professionals, you'll help shape project strategies, review technical outputs and contribute to the continued development of the consultancy's sustainability services.

Alongside project delivery, you'll mentor junior consultants, support quality assurance processes and play an active role in developing best practice across the team. You'll also have opportunities to contribute towards business development, client engagement and the growth of new sustainability services.

    Key Responsibilities

Lead the delivery of BREEAM, BREEAM International and WELL assessments from concept through to certification.
Deliver additional assessment schemes including BREEAM Domestic, Fitwel and BREEAM Infrastructure where required.

Support the development of technical standards, templates and internal quality procedures.
Mentor, supervise and support the development of junior sustainability consultants.
Assist with fee proposals, bids and business development activities.
Deliver workshops and presentations to clients and project teams where required.
