How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job Title: Graduate Bid Writer
    Location: Poole
    Salary: Up to £35,000
    Role: Permanent – Full Time

    Are you a recent graduate with a passion for writing, research and problem solving?

    An exciting opportunity has arisen to join a growing and service-focused organisation as a Graduate Bid Writer. This is a fantastic opportunity to build a long-term career in bid writing, working alongside experienced colleagues who will provide training and support as you develop.

    You'll play an important role in producing high-quality bid and tender submissions, helping to secure new business across both the public and private sectors. Working closely with operational, commercial, finance and leadership teams, you'll learn how to interpret customer requirements, gather information and create clear, compelling responses.

    This role would suit a graduate with excellent written communication skills who enjoys researching, analysing information and producing well-structured written work.

    The Role

    You'll support the preparation of bid and tender submissions, ensuring every response is accurate, well written and submitted on time. Working with colleagues across the business, you'll learn how to develop compelling content that meets customer requirements and contributes to successful bid outcomes.

    Key Responsibilities

    Supporting the preparation of bid and tender submissions.
    Reviewing tender documents and identifying key customer requirements.
    Researching information and gathering content from teams across the business.
    Writing and editing clear, engaging and accurate bid responses.
    Proofreading submissions to ensure consistency, quality and attention to detail.
    Maintaining bid templates, content libraries and supporting documentation.
    Helping to ensure submissions are completed accurately and within deadline.
    Supporting the continuous improvement of bid content and processes.
    Working closely with experienced Bid Writers and internal stakeholders to develop your knowledge and skills.What We're Looking For

    A degree in a writing, research or analytical subject such as English Literature, English Language, Creative Writing, Journalism, History, Politics, Law, International Relations or Communications.
    Excellent written communication skills with the ability to write clearly and concisely.
    Strong research and analytical skills.
    High attention to detail.
    Good organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities.
    Confidence communicating with people across different teams.
    Strong Microsoft Office skills.Previous bid writing experience isn't required. If you've completed dissertations, research projects or written detailed reports as part of your studies or previous work experience, we'd love to hear from you.
