How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    Job Title: Electrical Engineer

    Location: Blyth, Northumberland
    Contract: Permanent, Full Time

    Our client is a global engineering business with multiple sites in the North East. They are looking to recruit an experienced Electrical Engineer to join their team in Blyth.

    This is an exciting opportunity for an Electrical Engineer to work on highly specialised equipment, supporting the design, development, testing, commissioning, and ongoing improvement of advanced electrical systems used on complex global projects.

    The Role

    As an Electrical Engineer, you will collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure projects are delivered safely, efficiently, and to the highest standards.

    Key responsibilities include:

    * Designing electrical systems, control panels, and power distribution solutions.

    * Producing electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical documentation.

    * Supporting PLC, HMI, and automation system integration.

    * Carrying out electrical calculations, analysis, and component selection.

    * Participating in Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT) and Site Acceptance Testing (SAT).

    * Providing technical support during manufacturing, installation, and service activities.

    * Ensuring compliance with electrical standards, regulations, and best practices.

    About You

    To succeed as an Electrical Engineer, you will ideally have a strong background in electrical design within marine, offshore, manufacturing, industrial automation, or heavy engineering environments.

    Requirements:

    * HNC, HND, Degree, or equivalent qualification in Electrical Engineering.

    * Experience in an industrial or project-based engineering environment.

    * Knowledge of electrical distribution systems, motors, drives, sensors, and control systems.

    * Understanding of PLCs and automation systems.

    * Ability to interpret technical drawings and engineering documentation.

    * Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.

    * Willingness to travel when required for commissioning and project support.
