How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    Position:              Design Manager
    Location:             Bromley, Kent
    Salary:                 £70k-£80k plus benefits package, including profit share related bonus

    This Design Manager role:

    An exciting opportunity for a Design Manager to join a successful, growing contractor with a great long-standing reputation. You will work on projects in most sectors including education, social housing, commercial, leisure and healthcare. You will as a Design Manager, be hands on and commercially minded.

    The projects:
    As mentioned, the projects will vary in most sectors of construction and will include refurbishments, new builds and fitout. As a Design Manager you could run up to 3 projects depending on their values and locations. An example would be to oversee a £4m extension of a school and a £6m new build social housing project while also being involved on others a different stage of the construction and pre-construction process.

    What you will need as Design Manager
    A UK construction qualification in Design Management, Production or Architecturally trained background. Over 5yrs proven experience as a Design Manager within main contracting
    Been fully commercially responsible for your own project or projects to £30m in value.
    A stable employment as Design Manager for medium to long periods of service with companies.
    Experience of education including DfE framework.
