How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

Use Your Technical Knowledge to Make an Impact
Are you an engineer, scientist or technical lecturer who enjoys working with people as much as technology? Have you ever considered a career where your technical expertise is valued just as highly—but where your earning potential, independence and career opportunities are significantly greater?
If you enjoy explaining technical concepts, solving problems and building lasting relationships, this could be the perfect opportunity to move into technical sales.
Previous sales experience is not essential. We are looking for people with technical credibility, curiosity, enthusiasm and the ambition to develop a successful commercial career. We provide comprehensive product and sales training to give you everything you need to succeed.
    About Us
We are an internationally recognised manufacturer of advanced engineering education equipment, supplying universities, colleges and technical training providers around the world.
Our solutions enable students and apprentices to gain practical, hands-on experience in engineering and applied science. Working closely with educators, we help create modern learning environments that prepare the next generation of engineers and technicians.
As our Technical Sales Manager for Northern UK, you will become a trusted advisor to customers across your territory, combining technical expertise with consultative sales to deliver tailored solutions.
    Your Role
Working from your home office, you will manage customers throughout Northern England, Scotland.
    Your responsibilities will include:
    * Developing new business opportunities across your territory.
    * Building long-term relationships with universities, colleges and technical training providers.
    * Advising customers on laboratory equipment and engineering education solutions.
    * Understanding customer requirements and recommending the most appropriate technical solutions.
    * Delivering engaging product demonstrations, workshops and presentations.
    * Preparing quotations and negotiating commercial agreements.
    * Managing projects from the initial enquiry through to successful delivery.
    * Representing the company at exhibitions, conferences and technical events.
    * Managing your sales pipeline using our CRM system.
    * Working closely with colleagues in Germany on customer projects.
This is a consultative sales role where understanding customer needs and delivering value is far more important than applying high-pressure sales techniques.
    Who We're Looking For
This opportunity is ideal for engineers, scientists, technical specialists and engineering or technical lecturers who are ready for a new professional challenge. Whether you currently work in industry, research, technical education or vocational training, you enjoy working with people, communicating technical ideas and finding practical solutions. If you are looking for greater variety, more autonomy and the opportunity to influence exciting educational projects, we'd love to hear from you.
    Your Background
    Ideally you will have:
    * A degree or technical qualification in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, Automation, Physics or another engineering or scientific discipline.
    * Around 2–10 years of professional experience in engineering, science, technical education or a customer-facing technical role.
    * Excellent communication and presentation skills.
    * The ability to explain technical concepts to different audiences with confidence.
    * A proactive, organised and self-motivated approach.
    * The willingness to travel regularly throughout Northern UK.
    * A full UK driving licence.
    * Eligibility to work in the UK.
No previous sales experience is required.
If you have the technical knowledge, enjoy working with people and are motivated to develop commercially, we will teach you the sales skills and product knowledge needed to become successful.
    What We Offer
Joining us means investing in a long-term career, not just accepting another job.
    We offer:
    * Competitive basic salary with an uncapped commission scheme.
    * Comprehensive induction programme.
    * Structured product training at our headquarters in Germany.
    * Ongoing coaching and mentoring in technical sales.
    * A company car, laptop and mobile phone.
    * Home-based working with a high level of autonomy.
    * An international and collaborative working environment.
    * The opportunity to work with leading universities, colleges and technical institutions across the UK.
    * Clear opportunities for professional development as our UK business continues to grow.
    Why Join Us?
This is much more than a sales position.
You will help universities, colleges and technical training providers educate the next generation of engineers and scientists while building your own rewarding commercial career.
Every customer conversation is based on technical expertise, trust and long-term partnerships—not transactional selling.
If you are looking for a role where your engineering or scientific knowledge is genuinely valued, where every day is different and where your personal success is rewarded, we'd love to hear from you
