How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

FDM is a global business and technology consultancy seeking a Configuration Analyst to work for our client within the Financial Services sector. This is initially a 6-12 month contract with the potential to extend and will be a hybrid role that will be based in Edinburgh.

Our client is seeking a highly organised and detail-oriented Configuration Analyst to support and maintain our Configuration Management Database (CMDB) and Configuration Management processes.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone with experience in ServiceNow, IT Service Management (ITSM), Asset Management, or Configuration Management who enjoys working with data, improving processes, and helping ensure technology information remains accurate and trusted across the organisation.

Working closely with teams across Technology Services, you will play a key role in maintaining the quality and integrity of Configuration Item (CI) data, supporting ServiceNow CMDB administration, service mapping activities, governance processes, and continual service improvement initiatives.

    Responsibilities:

    * Maintaining and administering Configuration Items (CIs) and CI relationships within the ServiceNow CMDB.

    * Ensuring the accuracy, completeness, and integrity of configuration data.

    * Performing regular audits, reconciliations, and data quality reviews.

    * Identifying and resolving duplicate, stale, or inaccurate CI records.

    * Supporting ServiceNow Discovery and Service Mapping activities.

    * Assisting with CMDB integrations and data ingestion processes.

    * Supporting adoption of the Common Service Data Model (CSDM).

    * Producing CMDB reporting, dashboards, and data quality metrics.

    * Supporting Change, Incident, Problem, Asset, Risk, Security, and Service Management teams with accurate configuration data.

    * Analysing the impact of changes on technology services and infrastructure.

    * Investigating and resolving configuration data discrepancies.

    * Contributing to process improvements and CMDB maturity initiatives.

    * Supporting internal and external audit requirements relating to Configuration Management.

    * Maintaining documentation, procedures, and working instructions.

    About You

    * Experience working within an IT Service Management (ITSM) environment.

    * Experience administering or supporting a CMDB, ideally within ServiceNow.

    *

Knowledge of the Common Service Data Model (CSDM).

    * Understanding of Configuration Management principles and ITIL best practices.

    * Knowledge of Configuration Items (CIs), CI relationships, and service dependencies.

    * Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

    * Excellent attention to detail and commitment to data quality.

    * Experience producing reports and analysing data trends.

    * Strong stakeholder engagement and communication skills.

    * Ability to work collaboratively across technical and business teams.
