How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Systems Analyst (Exposure Management)

    About The Role

    FDM is a global business and technology consultancy seeking a Systems Analyst (Exposure Management) to work for our client within the insurance sector. This is initially a 6-month contract with a strong likelihood of extension, and will be a hybrid role based in London (2–3 days per week in the office).

    This position requires a hands-on individual with strong technical and analytical capability. While deep Exposure Management expertise is not essential, a working understanding of catastrophe modelling and underwriting processes is advantageous.

    The successful candidate will support the full product lifecycle from requirements definition through to delivery and continuous improvement ensuring the stability, performance, and effectiveness of business-critical systems. Collaboration across Engineering, Architecture, Service Management, and QA teams is essential within a matrix technology environment.

    Responsibilities:

    * Providing technical support for FPED, Moody’s RiskLink/Risk Modeler, Verisk Sequel Impact and related Exposure Management applications.

    * Monitoring and investigating failed runs, failed jobs, data quality issues and production incidents.

    * Developing and maintaining SQL processes, stored procedures, automations and data integrations.

    * Supporting and owning timetables relating to month-end reporting and aggregation activities.

    * Supporting deployment, testing and release management activities.

    * Maintaining technical documentation, operational procedures and support runbooks.

    * Driving automation initiatives to reduce manual intervention and operational risk.

    * Providing technical input into product backlog refinement, solution design and continuous improvement initiatives.

    * Collaborating with Analysts, Architects and QA to support and deliver enhancements to Exposure Management systems.

    * Monitoring and maintaining existing systems, troubleshooting and providing support on relevant technical issues, and ensuring optimal efficiency and uptime.

    * Driving operational efficiency across Exposure Management by developing tools and proposing system enhancements.

    * Creating detailed knowledge repository documentation relating to key systems.

    * Building close and collaborative relationships with the Exposure Management team.

    About You

    * SQL Development – Advanced T-SQL development, stored procedures, views, functions , triggers , query optimisation and performance tuning , SQL agent jobs, database troubleshooting , data modelling and schema design

    * Data Engineering – ETL development, SSIS or equivalent integration tooling, batch processing, d ata validation and reconciliation, file-based integration processing, SFTP and automated file transfers, large-scale data extraction and transformation

    * Reporting and Analytics – SSRS, Power BI, management information reporting, data visualisation, automated report generation and distribution , report performance optimisation

    * DevOps – Azure DevOps or Git, source control, release deployment, code promotion across environments, automated testing practices, CI/CD principles

    * Other – Python, PowerShell, Azure Data Factory, Azure SQL

    Desirable:

    * Understanding of Exposure Management, Catastrophe Modelling, and/or Underwriting processes

    * Awareness of portfolio modelling, pricing tools, and risk aggregation concepts

    * Familiarity with London Market insurance practices
