How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.

    Curriculum Coordinator – Built Environment & Motor Vehicle

    Temporary Assignment via HRG
    Turnford, Broxbourne

    36 hours per week | Monday to Friday
    £23.09 - £24.64 per hour (dependent on experience and qualifications)

    HRG is recruiting on behalf of Hertford Regional College (HRC) for an experienced Curriculum Coordinator to join the Built Environment and Motor Vehicle curriculum area on a temporary assignment based at the College's Turnford Campus in Broxbourne.

    This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Further Education professional who is passionate about delivering outstanding learner outcomes and supporting curriculum excellence. Working closely with the Curriculum Area Manager, you will help lead improvements in teaching, learning and assessment while providing operational support across a busy and dynamic curriculum area.

    The Role

    As Curriculum Coordinator, you will support the day-to-day management of the Built Environment and Motor Vehicle department, helping to maintain high standards of teaching, learning and student engagement.

    You will analyse learner performance, monitor attendance and achievement, support curriculum planning, mentor colleagues and coordinate interventions to improve learner success. Acting as a key support to the Curriculum Area Manager, you will help ensure continuity of leadership and contribute to the ongoing development of both staff and students.

    Key Responsibilities

    Support the Curriculum Area Manager in driving continuous improvement across teaching, learning and assessment.

    Conduct lesson observations, learning walks, peer reviews and curriculum audits.

    Analyse learner progress, attendance and achievement data to identify trends and implement improvement strategies.

    Develop and coordinate action plans for learners requiring additional support.

    Promote high levels of attendance, punctuality, behaviour and learner engagement.

    Support curriculum planning, timetabling and operational delivery.

    Monitor key performance indicators including retention, achievement, progression and attendance.

    Coach and mentor teaching staff, encouraging the sharing of good practice.

    Work collaboratively with cross-college support services to enhance the learner experience.

    Represent the curriculum area at Open Days, Information Evenings and student recruitment events.

    Promote safeguarding, equality, diversity and inclusive practice at all times.

    About You

    To be successful in this role, you will bring a combination of teaching expertise, leadership potential and a passion for improving student outcomes.

    Essential

    Minimum Level 4 teaching qualification.

    GCSE English and Maths at Grade 4/C or above (or equivalent).

    Proven teaching or training experience within a relevant vocational or educational setting.

    Strong industry knowledge with practical, hands-on experience.

    Experience contributing to curriculum improvement and positive learner outcomes.

    Excellent communication, organisational and IT skills.

    Ability to manage competing priorities and work to deadlines.

    A flexible, proactive and professional approach with a strong commitment to safeguarding.

    Desirable

    Experience working within Further Education.

    Knowledge of Built Environment and/or Motor Vehicle education.

    Experience of improving standards against Ofsted expectations.

    Supervisory or management qualification.

    Assessor and/or Internal Verifier (IV) qualifications, or willingness to achieve them.
