How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Process Improvement Engineer

    Location: Melton Mowbray

    Salary: £Competitive + excellent benefits

    Hours: 35-hour working week with a 2.00pm finish every Friday

    The Opportunity

    We're recruiting on behalf of a well-established manufacturing business for a Process Improvement Engineer to drive operational excellence across its production and logistics functions.

    This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced continuous improvement professional who enjoys leading change, influencing teams and delivering practical improvement projects. Although the role has no direct reports, you'll play a key role in engaging stakeholders across the business, embedding Lean thinking and helping to shape a culture of continuous improvement.

    You'll lead projects focused on improving productivity, quality, safety and operational efficiency, while supporting investment in new processes and equipment.

    Key Responsibilities

    Lead and facilitate continuous improvement projects across manufacturing and logistics operations.

    Analyse performance data to identify opportunities to improve efficiency, quality and Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE).

    Facilitate workshops, problem-solving sessions and Root Cause Analysis to drive sustainable improvements.

    Deliver Lean initiatives using tools such as Six Sigma, Value Stream Mapping, 5S and Statistical Process Control (SPC).

    Manage improvement projects from concept through to implementation, working closely with production, engineering and support teams.

    Support automation, process optimisation, material handling and workplace safety improvement projects.

    Coach and support colleagues in continuous improvement methodologies, helping to embed a positive CI culture.

    Review procedures, monitor project outcomes and ensure improvements are sustained.

    About You

    You'll be an experienced manufacturing professional with a passion for continuous improvement and the ability to influence others without direct authority. You'll enjoy working collaboratively across multiple departments and be confident leading change within a fast-paced production environment.

    Essential Requirements

    Minimum of five years' experience within a manufacturing, production or process environment.

    Experience leading Lean or continuous improvement projects.

    Practical knowledge of Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma methodologies.

    Green Belt qualification or equivalent practical Continuous Improvement experience.

    Strong project management and organisational skills.

    Excellent analytical and problem-solving ability.

    Ability to engage, coach and influence stakeholders at all levels.

    Good understanding of Health, Safety and Environmental requirements within manufacturing.

    Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.

    Desirable

    Degree (or equivalent) in Engineering, Manufacturing or a related discipline.

    Experience within chemical, food, polymer, FMCG or other process manufacturing environments.

    Experience using SAP or similar ERP systems.
