How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Location: Westminster, Central London
    Start Date: September 2026
    Salary: Up to £145 per day (PAYE)
    Hours: Full-time, Monday to Friday

    About the Role

    As a Higher Level Teaching Assistant, you will play a key role in supporting teaching and learning across the school while working closely with class teachers and senior leaders to ensure every child reaches their full potential.

    You will deliver pre-planned lessons when required, provide targeted interventions and work closely with pupils who require additional support, particularly those with SEND and Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs.

    This is a varied and rewarding role where no two days are the same.

    Your responsibilities will include:

    Delivering high-quality lessons in the absence of the class teacher.
    Supporting teaching and learning across EYFS, KS1 and KS2 as required.
    Delivering small group and one-to-one interventions.
    Supporting pupils with SEND and SEMH needs both inside and outside the classroom.
    Working closely with teachers, the SENCO and external professionals to implement individual support plans.
    Promoting positive behaviour and emotional wellbeing.
    Helping to create an inclusive learning environment where every child can succeed.
    Monitoring pupil progress and providing feedback to teaching staff.
    Supporting the wider life of this vibrant and creative school community.About You

    The successful candidate will be passionate about supporting children and committed to helping every pupil achieve their very best.

    You will have:

    Experience working as a Higher Level Teaching Assistant or experienced Teaching Assistant within a UK primary school.
    Significant experience supporting children with SEND and SEMH needs.
    Confidence delivering lessons and managing whole classes.
    Strong behaviour management skills.
    A nurturing, patient and resilient approach.
    Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
    A proactive attitude and willingness to contribute to the wider school community.
