How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    My client is seeking skilled High Voltage professionals to join a growing team delivering essential substation and network projects across the UK Distribution Network.
    This is an excellent opportunity for a Senior Authorised Person at either a 11kVm 33kV or 132kV who enjoys working on technically challenging schemes while benefiting from long-term career development, excellent benefits and the chance to work on projects that keep communities connected.

    What You'll Be Doing

    As a Senior Authorised Person, you will play a vital role in the safe delivery of High Voltage electrical works across 11kV, 33kV and 132kV distribution networks.

    Your responsibilities will include:

    Planning and carrying out High Voltage switching operations.
    Preparing and implementing switching programmes using DNO operating systems.
    Safely isolating, earthing and returning electrical equipment to service.
    Issuing Permits to Work, Sanctions for Test and Limitations of Access.
    Producing and reviewing safety documentation, risk assessments and method statements.
    Supporting the delivery of substation construction, maintenance and network upgrade projects.
    Working closely with clients, site teams and project stakeholders to ensure works are delivered safely and efficiently.
    Providing technical guidance and mentoring to engineers and operational staff.
    Ensuring all work complies with Distribution Safety Rules, company procedures and current health and safety legislation.
    What You'll Need

    To be considered for this Senior Authorised Person position, you should have:

    Current SAP authorisation at 11kV, 33kV or 132kV on a UK DNO network.
    Previous experience delivering High Voltage switching within substations, commissioning or electricity distribution projects.
    Strong understanding of electrical engineering principles and network operations.
    Experience preparing switching schedules and outage plans.
    HNC, Degree or equivalent qualification in Electrical Engineering.
    Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
    A full UK driving licence and willingness to travel across East Anglia and surrounding areas, with regular attendance at the Stevenage office.
