We are recruiting for an experienced Transport Planner to join a busy and well-established transport operation in Crawley. This is an excellent opportunity to become part of one of the UK's largest distribution networks, playing a key role in planning the movement of (Apply online only) pallets every day.
The Role
As the PM Transport Planner, you will take ownership of the main planning function. You'll produce the primary transport plan for the day's deliveries, with the day planner making any final operational adjustments as required.
This position requires someone who is confident making decisions independently.
Key Responsibilities
Plan and optimise routes for (Apply online only) pallets per day
Schedule and allocate a fleet of 30 vehicles, including rigid and articulated vehicles
Coordinate trunking movements and ensure efficient vehicle utilisation
Plan deliveries across key local postcodes
Monitor transport performance and respond to operational challenges
Communicate effectively with drivers, warehouse teams and the wider transport department
Ensure compliance with transport legislation and company proceduresAbout You
We're looking for someone who has:
Previous experience in transport planning within a fast-paced distribution or logistics environment
Strong geographical knowledge of the South East
Experience planning multi-drop or pallet network deliveries
Excellent organisational and problem-solving skills
The confidence to work independently and make decisions during lone-working periods
A proactive approach with strong communication skillsWhat's on Offer?
